so now... for a nap

Well... idk really what to say but im so tired... maybe it is stress or maybe it is being a senior in high school and just now catching the seniorites and going down with it. But i did not work out today...(sad) but my knee has been killing me and i have been falling asleep in almost every class. I know not good.
I really have been trying to eat good but i think im about to start my woman blessing and i think that makes me crave everything!!! If that is it then that is better then craving everything all the time. I really hope this week will start getting better for me and my 2 sisters. I think about us all the time.

This weekend looks like a need girls weekend with my best friend Erin. She will help me next year on staying in shape and also being myself! i love her, she is also like a sister to me!!!!

So i just got back from a latin party. YES I HAD FOOD... to be truthful i did not have the helthest food but it was good. and i had some icecream but not to much! ohhhh but it was good!!!

I hope that when my knee is feeling better i can get back into running and feel like im in shape... oh man...

Stressed Out

This week I have decided to go through the veggie/fruit detox and to fast on Friday.  It should be interesting.  I will be putting fasting info in the toolbar to the right.  Our lives center so much around food, when you hang out with people you usually go eat, eat dessert or go grab a pizza.  And without having to deal with the time of making and preparing grand meals, I have more time to focus on other things in life!

Yesterday, Monday, I worked out after work and before work!  I was pretty excited.  The only bad thing was that I didn't wear my knee brace the second time, so my knee is sore today, but I did ice my knee.  But I decided to relax today!  I have been going and going and going...I have also been every stressed out because of certain responsibilities, so I decided that I needed a chance to recuperate and then get back to work tomorrow!  My roommate got out of working today, so we were able to spend some much needed time together and get my mind off of the stresses that have been bogging me down.

After my workout last night, a guy from my church was there and he also really helped bring my spirits up and motivate me.  But after our discussion, I realized how stressed I really was...I actually cried walking to my car because what he was saying was something I really needed to hear!  But enough of the sad story, I feel refreshed today as I am writing this and can't wait to get back to work!

This post is somewhat depressing and I am sorry! But stress causes so much grief sometimes and it is good to have a break once in awhile to recenter!  I am ready to take on tomorrow with a renewed spirit and excitement for what the future holds.

Another happy note - I got a new CD in the mail today with my newest favorite song  "Forgiven"by Sanctus Real!!  Check it out!!!

Until later - CNW

Weight Lost : 4.6 lbs

Picture above is of some people who make me smile!!  :)
And yes with food on the mind - the food was AMAZING there!!  :)

Scariest Post of my Life

Ok guys, like the title says, this is the scariest post of my life.

Why you might ask??.... because at the end of this post I will be admitting my weight! Normally this would be hard for me .... but its really hard now because I am the heaviest I have ever been in my life.

But thats the reason I am doing this right? To lose weight and get back to a better and healthier me. And I figure that posting my actual weight I will be even more motivated to get that weight down. Kind of like a Biggest Loser thing.... I say how much I weigh and you guys can see how much I've lost!

I am super motivated to eat right and exercise! Tonight I did 45 minutes on the gazelle..... after I did 8 hrs in a 7th grade classroom! Now that is motivation! Haha!

Ok - here we go... deep breath....

Stats: 3/29/10
stats temporarily removed

So there it is....... And soon those numbers will be going down...down.... down!!!! Thank you guys for your support.... I can't do this without y'all!

Natural Workout!

So we talk about working out in the gym, specific exercises and more...
But nothing can be more exhausting and work more muscles than a good natural workout at a out doors garage sale with 8 youth and only a couple of adults to run it!
The bending, stretching, lifting, twisting, squating, pushing, yelling, breathing...ect....

Then when you think you get to go home and rest until 5...you take two youth girls home with you until then.  So many laughs this time too!  We had a lot of fun and were able to relax a little, but again, when around youth, there is not much time to completely relax... :)

Then to top it off, going to Austin Parks and Pizza with that same group of Crazy Kids, running after them, standing in lines, crouching in a bumper boat while trying to dodge getting soaked by water (which didn't work by the way) and spinning on the teacups (twice - barf!!! almost)  because your youth nearly break your fingers pulling you on there!  Oh and I can't describe the workout from the laughs that constantly were happening as I watched some try and some succeed climbing the rock walls, having shooting contests which one kid kept winning, it wasn't too fair, and watching one of our boys with huge sun glasses on laughing and talking as hysterically as he could!

Now I am at church...no the service has not started yet...helped set up tables and I am so tired!  It is a good tired, but my body is trying to tell me to go sleep some more!

I am sorry my post is not on my day, my internet at my apartment has been out for the past couple of days...grrr....I did have to get on the internet to send a letter for a friend (delinquent friend :) ) and I sat outside and coffee house using the computer and their free wifi while my computer was in my passenger seat...felt very special agent...   But luckily I've got access at church this morning  :)  It helps when you are one of the youth pastors...

Well...what to take from this post...natural workouts are just as amazingly tiring as going to the gym...you just have to get off your butt and do something!  I have not been to the gym since Tuesday :( because of getting garage sale stuff ready, it takes a lot of work, but I did get a work out from it!!

WHOOP!!!!

These past couple of days have been good and confusing but i guess that is way it is a game of life! ;) I have to be truthful... i broke the only eating veggies and fruit for a week... i had chines food last night and had ice cream!!! BUT it was with a girlfriend and when your with girlfriends calories dont count right!!! lol...

Any who. i ran 3 miles yesterday and did core workout. my arms and legs are killing me and my knee feels like it is swollen... i need to ice it!!! hmm being in wrestling for 4 years i think i should know that... But my body is very sore from all the wrestling i have been doing after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays! But im glad it is a different exercise for me to do! Sometimes being in the workout room or on the track i get so bored. i cant wait till TEXAS A&M to find a group i can play sports with so i dont really realize that im working out lol!

Today i have to say im going to take the day off! i hurt all over and my knee needs to rest, but i plan to run tomorrow and do abs to start back up. Me and my mom... when she gets home... are going to go get my prom dress and im going to try on prom shoes!!! so i guess that is some kind of work out! lol... but i hate shopping so it is not as fun as working out for me. Then tonight im going to Buffalo Wild Wings, with my friends Sean, Matt, and Tyler(girl) to watch the UFC fighting on the tv. IM really really excited for it!

OH i almost forgot!!! I watched a really scary movie last night (the collector) and my heart was beating like 100 miles per hour so i guess i got my cardio in! hahaahah jk. But it was really scary and Carlyn if you have not seen it i think you would like it... maybe lol. Well i have been trying to eat right and eating 6 small times a day! still eating a lot more veggies and Fruits. Not going to give up on the detox till Monday! ;) Ara im very proud of you and how you have been doing good on this and both of us helping each other! Everyone have a blessed day!!! ;) ~3MM@%3e~

My sisters are bugging me - so here's the post...

Well its been since Sunday that I have eaten nothing but veggies (popcorn is a form of corn so that counts right?)

I actually feel pretty good. A lot better than I did on Monday or Tuesday. Those first few days and even some last night I felt like heck. I was hungry ALL THE TIME. I felt like the veggies and fruit kept me full for all of 10 minutes. And then the headaches were torture.

I have always gotten headaches whenever I haven't eaten at my normal time. So it would figure that not eating my normal diet would trigger the same effect. Thank goodness I found my bottle of Motrin!!

Anyway, I have feeling over the moon today! I have had a lot of energy (even after an 8 hour day of watching jr high kids in ISS!) and I feel rather refreshed. I don't know if I've lost any weight but thats not what this veggie thing has been about. Its about flushing out all the bad preservatives and trans fats (haha - I fixed it but I just wrote "trans farts" - haha - I LOVE typos!). Plus only eating veggies and fruits for a while has made me really want some of the healthy stuff I wouldn't have wanted before... mainly to give me some variety!!

So all in all, this has been a good experience for me! I'm glad to have done it but glad it will be done with soon!!!!

Stats:
Current Weight: (not posting this yet... waiting until after veggie week)
Exercise since last post: awesome workout on the gazelle Tuesday night and various walks
Upper arm in inches: (waiting until after veggie week)
Bust in inches: (ditto)
Waist in inches: (ditto)
Hips in inches: (ditto)

Well my dog has come over to sit on my computer so I guess that is all I will be writing for now! Hope everyone has a safe and healthy weekend! -ara

Fighting through it!

Well... Today sorta started from the aftermath of yesterday...

I woke up sore and with a really bad headache. Not wrestling for about 4 weeks and then going after everyone kinda kills your body... plus this detox that im doing kinda wears me down but im trying to stay strong and not bust in eating any meat until monday! I know my sister is doing it and we are supporting each other! GO SIS!!

But today was good. I worked out this morning with all the wrestlers and then had a O.K. day at school... idk i dont really feel all there but maybe it was because of my headache that would not leave me alone through out the day. Then after school i worked out. I did the Elliptical for 30 mins. It was good, burned 350 calories and it did not bother my knee as much! Then i worked out my upper legs and upper arms then stretched everything i could. I really did not want to work out today because my friend bailed on me saying she wanted to sleep but i did it any way. ALSO im waiting on my lovely ipod... it becomes my best friend working out sometimes!

I have also realized how little food you can eat and still feel like you can survive lol. i know that sounds kinda late because i have starved myself for wrestling but now i have the choice to eat or what to eat like the healthy stuff and i feel down right now but i dont feel bloated or angry that i ate bad stuff lol. OH WELL i hope that i get my energy back and i will keep this mind set!

LOVE YA

An Intro From Carlyn

Hello Everyone,
It is early in the morning of my day to post -
Here's a little more info about me and my goals!

Currently I work over night, so on my nights off, my posts will probably be at interesting times.
While you are sleeping, I am working and visa versa...but it works for me right now.
I will be looking for a teaching job for the fall, but right now I really enjoy what I am doing.
Along with my paying job, I also work with the youth at my church and am a Special Olympics Coach.
These kids keep me busy and are one of my big reasons for wanting to get into shape!
I also love to travel and go on mission trips - I am hoping and praying that God will grant me a long term mission trip in the near future - but I am waiting on His timing!

My long and short term goals include:
Loosing 70 lbs (which I will keep track on here)
Eating healthier (which is a constant struggle for me)
To have more energy and endurance
(which happens even with a little time in the gym)
More strength in my Knee
(I had a run in with a 2x4 when I was younger)
To run a Marathon
(This is a LONG term goal, I have a lot to do before this!)

Some Excuses I use to keep my self from being more active:
My KNEE - but as long as I ice it, it does better
My TIME - I seem to waste it a lot...I'm working on this!

What I am already doing to encourage my fitness goals:
I have joined a Gym - Anytime Fitness - which works great for my schedule!
I have stopped drinking carbonated drinks - which is hard (I'd love a DDP)
I am keeping a journal of my workouts and weight loss.
I reward myself with a Subway Sandwich if I work out at least 5 days in one week.
I am wanting to add swimming in the river (see pic above) to my workout, but I am waiting for it to get a little warmer, so that I can go in the mornings and right now it is too cold!

I am excited about this adventure and I know that with God's help and my sister's encouragement, that I will be able to reach my goals!

Thanks for Joining My Journey,
Carlyn

Hello from Ara

Well today is my day to post!

I am very excited to get going with this blog... I have struggled with weight my whole life and I am so fed up with it! I am ready to get working and luckily I have a two great sisters that are willing to help me out!

Major Goals:

One of my major goals is to get my body ready for children. Not just the having children part.... but the keeping up with children part. Being around several wonderful ladies and their kids in our sunday school class, I realized that I am not even physically fit enough to chase a 2 yr old around for an extended time.

My husband and I want to encourage health and fitness into our children from a young age.... so that means I need to get my booty in gear before they get here. We are not planning on kids for another couple years so its the perfect time to focus on me and get ready!

Favorite workouts:

I am the proud owner of a Gazelle Fitness machine... I love it because I can use it while I'm in front of the television! (Isn't that a horrible reason?) But it is good because it actually distracts my brain from its usual comments, such as 'you have so far to go - its not worth it' or 'there's still a little bit of ice cream in the fridge, finish it off and start your exercising tomorrow'!

I also love tennis, walking and biking. I haven't done a lot of biking but I am working on it!

Biggest Downfalls:

I LOVE FOOD! Especially cheesy food.... like Mexican or Italian!

I hate sweating.... so much.

I am lazy.

So anyway, there is a little about me. I am striving to overcome my downfalls and reach my goal of getting fit before kids come along!

Currently I am doing a fruits and vegetables detox week. I am eating nothing but fruits and veggies and drinking water (mostly...) But I am hoping to clean out a lot of the junk in my body and make way for healthy meals that I am already planning. My husband is trying to get healthy too so hopefully we will be able to support each other (and slap each others hands when we get to close to cake!)

These are the stats I will post each time I post on this blog so you all can watch my progress:
Current Weight: (not posting this yet... waiting until after veggie week)
Exercise since last post: (this is the first post but I exercised last night!)
Upper arm in inches: (waiting until after veggie week)
Bust in inches: (ditto)
Waist in inches: (ditto)
Hips in inches: (ditto)

Love to all, Ara

The wind....

Went running today... BEAUTIFUL day! BUT when it is windy and you need to spit... you may want to turn your head to the side... BECAUSE if you spit into the wind your spit WILL come back and smack you in the face!!!!
